The Policy Grant is a one-time recognition gift of $1,000 for vegan menu policies or $250 for vegetarian menu policies awarded to organizations that have recently adopted board-approved vegetarian or vegan menu policies for events and fundraisers.

Thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor, Animal Place's Food for Thought campaign is delighted to be able to award grants to deserving organizations that adopt an animal- and earth-friendly menu policy!

Application criteria includes:

• You operate as a companion animal organization with a brick-and-mortar facility.

• You are a classified as a 501(c)(3) organization or registered charity. 

• You have recently adopted or updated a written, board-approved animal-friendly menu policy.

• Your policy must include language that states food served at all organizational events will be vegan or vegetarian. 

• You regularly host events open to the public where food is served.

• You can submit Board Meeting minutes or other documentation showing formal adoption of written policy.

• You have not received a Food for Thought event grant or ticket subsidy grant in the past. (Organizations may only apply for either the policy grant or an event grant, but not both.)

• You permit Food for Thought to list your organization on our Policy Leaders page.
